Telos employs actuaries and other professionals to provide a wide range of services:
● Financial institutions use us to help them manage risk exposures, capital requirements and product or service
offerings.
● Employers use us to help them structure employee benefits, develop long term incentive arrangements and
manage risk exposures (including the use of captives).
● Entrepreneurs use us to help them manage their risk exposures and raise capital.
● Investors use us to help them develop and successfully implement an appropriate investment strategy or
simply to audit their existing arrangements.
● Individuals come to us for specialist financial planning, contract negotiations (particularly artists and highly
paid professionals) or for actuarial advice in relation to legal negotiations over personal injury claims, trust
dissolutions or divorces.
Telos focuses almost exclusively on the China market but maintains a presence in Bermuda because it is a global
centre for insurance (including captives) and offshore trusts and investment.
Telos is an ancient Greek word that literally means the end. It was used by Aristotle to describe the ultimate goal
or true potential to which all things aspire. We chose the name Telos because in everything we do "We start with
the end in mind" (The first of Steven Coveys Seven Habits of Highly Effective People) and we see our role as
helping people to realize their true potential, or telos.
Telos refers to a desired but uncertain future goal and as such it is also an appropriate reminder of our actuarial
roots. According to the UK's Institute of Actuaries"Actuaries make financial sense of the future".
